Councilmember Nick Haney is a firefighter paramedic and lifelong public servant committed to keeping families safe and the city strong.

Nick Haney  grew up in Surprise and is a product of the Dysart School District eventually graduating from Willow Canyon High School. Haney got his first chance to serve Surprise as the chairman of the Surprise Youth Commission.  He was first elected to City Council in 2022 and was selected as the youngest Vice Mayor in city history  in 2024.  Haney represents Surprise on key regional and city committees dealing with improving transportation infrastructure and neighborhoods.
