A COMMITMENT TO SERVICE
Nick Haney was raised in Surprise and is a product of the Dysart Unified School District. His family moved to the city more than twenty years ago because it was a great place to grow their young family. Nick’s call to service started at a young age as he became involved in the Surprise Youth Council and was elected to serve as chairman.
He went on to attend Arizona State University where he quickly became involved on campus. His passion and commitment to serving others eventually led to him being elected to serve as the Associated Students of ASU Senate President. In addition to his involvement on campus, Nick Haney graduated Summa Cum Laude and chose to carry on the family tradition of public service.
Nick is proud to come from a family of public servants. Two of his grandparents served in the United States Air Force. In addition, his other Grandfather, who lives in Surprise, served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman and is a veteran of the Vietnam war. Nick’s father is a United States Army Veteran and his mother is a member of law enforcement. Nick has continued this tradition of service as a first responder. He is currently a firefighter paramedic with one of the busiest fire departments in the Valley. When Nick is not at the fire station, he volunteers at various charitable events throughout the year giving back to those in need.
He recently married the love of his life, Nicole, who is a nurse at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Nick and Nicole bought their first home in Surprise and are excited to start their new family in the city they both love. He is running for Surprise City Council to serve the city and community that has given him so much. Nick is committed to making Surprise a better & safer city for his family and yours.
